Registration for the Gasherbrum II Expedition is currently available for the 2025-26 season. Gasherbrum II is the eleventh highest mountain in the world, with an astounding elevation of 8,080 meters above mean sea level. The Karakoram Mountain range in Gilgit-Baltistan,Pakistan, is the setting for this expedition, which is an experience that mountaineering aficionados will remember for the rest of their lives

Gasherbrum I also called K5 or Hidden Peak is the 11th highest mountain in the world. It stands 8080 meters (26,510 feet) tall and is found in the Karakoram Range of Pakistan. It is part of a group of mountains known as the Gasherbrum massif, which includes Gasherbrum I II III IV and V.

These mountains are grouped in a half-circle shape around the South Gasherbrum Glacier. The first try to climb Gasherbrum I was in 1936 by a French team led by H. De Segogne, but they could not go higher than 6,797 meters (Camp V).

The first successful climb to the top was on July 5 1958by Pete Schoening and Andy Kauffman from an American expedition led by Nicholas B. Clinch. Other team members included Richard K. Irvin, Tom Nevison Tom McCormack, Bob Swift and Gil Roberts.

Gasherbrum I is known as one of the least climbed 8000-meter peaks. It has fewer deaths, mostly because only very experienced climbers try it due to its remote location and difficult terrain.

It is also famous for being the place of the first 8,000-meter climb in Alpine Style. In Alpine Style climbers start from the bottom and carry all their gear with them without using fixed camps or extra help.

Most climbers go up from the western side of the mountain. All the routes from this side lead to a spot called the Japanese Couloir, which is found near the top on the north-west face of the mountain.
